NZ has the third highest obesity rate in the OECD, it's an epidemic and it needs to change. This is one of the many reasons I'm jumping on board with Fabruary and making a pledge to help battle the bulge and inspire our whanau and community to make positive changes in relation to food consumption, activity levels and beverage intake

Having my own tamariki made me acutely aware of how important it is to be a good role model when it comes to making healthy lifestyle choices. Sometimes all we need is a bit of support and a nudge in the right direction which is exactly what the FAB crew provide. So let's work together and get moving on a path to healthier future.

I participated last year and it was very beneficial to my overall health. Even managed to drop 9kg. A good habit I picked up from Fabruary was to replace soft drinks with water as a casual drink option. It is a habit that has become part of my lifestyle. I look forward to developing more good habits over the month of Fabruary 2017.

FAB AMBASSADOR 2016 - 2017

BIO

OCCUPATION: New Zealand Black Sticks Player and Qualified Nutritionist

As both a nutritionist and an athlete, being a FAB ambassador is something I feel really passionate about and is something that is really important to me!

Obesity and type 2 diabetes in New Zealand is a scary epidemic that we all need to help change. By being involved in FABruary I hope to help educate, motivate and show everyone that being active and eating well doesn’t have to be expensive, hard or time consuming. We can all make huge changes to our health by making small changes in our everyday lifestyle. Having support and help is so crucial to making successful changes and as a community we can all help each other on making positive lifestyle choices.
